Safety provisions
The safety of the surrounding community and our employees is paramount at the Chemical Park Knapsack.
This begins with the safety and security admissions test “check-in” at the gate, without which no one can gain access to work, deliver goods or operate in the chemical park.
Possible risks for the environment, health , safety and security are reduced as far as possible or completely eliminated through technical and organizational measures in the individual plants. Processes and production plants have been planned to include automatic safety and security installations as well as prevention mechanisms, so that dangers are reduced to a minimum.
The targeted training of employees, regular plant servicing, inspections and maintenance as well as plant operations safety audits ensure the smooth running of these facilities’ operational safety provisions for all businesses on site.
If however, in spite of all of the safety measures, an incident should occur, the authorized and accredited fire services of the chemical park are on call 24 hours a day to prevent possible dangers to the community and employees.
This full-time workforce is also responsible for rescue and fire prevention services. In addition, they assist the companies in the chemical park in drawing up their fire prevention concepts, employee training seminars and regular fire drills.
In order to guarantee the best possible safety standard, InfraServ Knapsack, the chemical park’s operator, works closely with the companies on site to effectively manage emergency organization, which is based on one another’s experience, ensuring that competent persons with power of decision for the community, plants, press representatives and authorities are available at all times.
The neighboring community is warned by works sirens located in the nearby city districts about fires, transport accidents or any other incidents in the chemical plants. We inform the neighboring community about how they should react to warnings and dangers here on the website.
