At the Chemiepark Knapsack you have a competent partner for all matters regarding waste disposal and pollution control.

In many cases, InfraServ Knapsack monitors the environmental impact of the production plants. As the site operator and central service provider it supports the companies with the evaluation and planning of measures relevant to the environment and waste disposal. Furthermore, InfraServ Knapsack provides authorized representatives for emission control, water protection, hazardous goods and waste.

The Chemiepark Knapsack has its own waste disposal center. InfraServ Knapsack is certified as a waste management company for the storage of waste in accordance with § 52 KrW-/AbfG (German Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act). On behalf of the waste water treatment company it also operates two modern waste water treatment plants and an extensive sewer system.

ENERGY SUPPLY

The reliable and economical supply of sufficient energy is one of the most important prerequisites for the chemical industry. The chemical park operator InfraServ Knapsack provides the manufacturing companies with the necessary energies in the form of electricity and process steam.

The continuous main load of the energy supply is borne by the refuse-derived fuel (RDF) power plant of E.ON Energy from Waste, where up to 300,000 tons of refuse-derived fuel are thermally utilized every year. This service is complemented by the combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant of the Norwegian energy company Statkraft. With 800 MW of installed capacity it is one of the largest CCGT power plants in Germany. A further combined gas turbine power plant with capacity of 400 MW is currently under construction. The energy supply of the Chemiepark Knapsack is thus guaranteed, also at peak load time.
