FOR OUR PARTNERS AND SUPPLIERS
To enable you to familiarize yourself with the processes at the chemical park, the following pages provide you with some initial information and assistance in preparing for your time at the Chemiepark Knapsack. Besides general information for external companies you can also prepare for the check-in (safety briefing).
Access regulations for external companies at the Chemiepark Knapsack
Before commencing work, employees of external companies are to register at the External Companies Office in the Hürth works section (Gate II, Hürth Gatekeeper, Building 9110, Mon-Fri 07:00-11:00 a.m.). Parking facilities are provided in front of Building 9110. An ID card and documentary proof of the work order from the client are required for registration. Employees of foreign nationality are required, where applicable, to present a valid residence permit and a valid work permit recorded by the aliens registration authority in the residence permit. The contractor must pay due regard to the expiry dates of the permits.
Before entering the works premises, external company employees are instructed in the basic rules and regulations regarding safety and correct conduct within the Chemiepark Knapsack by means of the check-in (safety briefing). Following the briefing, the external company employee must participate in an efficiency review in the form of a test. If failed, the test may be repeated a maximum of two times. It is available in several languages and valid for one year, after which it must be taken again. Each employee can prepare for the test at www.chemiepark-knapsack.de under the link "External companies".
A specific briefing on the work order is provided by the client or company concerned. When entering the company the external company employee must register at the registration office before commencing work. Upon leaving the company the employee is required to check out.
ID and entry permit
For work lasting up to 5 working days the external company employee is issued with a short-term ID card with access authorization for the Chemiepark Knapsack. For work at the Chemiepark Knapsack lasting more than 5 working days an external company ID card with photo is issued. The ID cards are not transferable and are the property of the InfraServ Knapsack. If the ID card is lost or damaged, a charge of € 25.00 will be made.
If it is necessary for vehicles to enter the chemical park, an entry permit may be applied for. This permit is not transferable to other persons or vehicles. For work of a longer duration the vehicle driver is issued with a yellow disc which is to be displayed visibly on the vehicle. On the works premises, only the parking facility allocated by the client is to be used. Driving on the company premises of the production plant requires a separate permit from the company concerned. All vehicles must comply with the regulations of the German traffic code (StVo) in terms of their roadworthiness and equipment.
Before work commences, a list of the materials and tools brought along must be handed in to plant security. Corresponding materials must be presented on demand.
ID cards, tools and materials, parking spaces, speed, vehicles and bags are checked both at the gates and within the entire Chemiepark Knapsack. All objects brought along are to be presented to plant security on demand.
All company or business data that become known in the course of the work contract are to be treated in strict confidence and may not be passed on to third parties.
The instructions of the security personnel (plant security, fire department) are to be followed at all times. Noncompliance will result in reprimands, warnings or exclusion from the plant.
In addition to the access regulations listed for external companies, the safety and site regulations of the Chemiepark Knapsack and the company-specific regulations of the client are applicable.
